The University of Adelaide’s FOODplus centre is run by leading Professor Bob Gibson. FOODplus are researching and developing a number of technologies and one of these is a novel technique to turn useless grease-trap waste into biodiesel. Grease-trap waste is traditionally a cost centre for organisations and has low value end uses, such as a liquid spread for commercial composting facilities. FOODplus were successful in achieving an ARC Linkage grant of over $1mil. Cettera assisted the FOODplus centre by providing a partnership with leading industry participant Peats Soils and garden Suppliers and assisting in the commercialisation structure and process for the technology.
